A mural program for Sunland Park students, starting with the walls that get hit the most. You design it, you paint it. The City brings the wall, the paint, and the crew.

Some walls in Sunland Park get tagged over and over. Every time, a crew comes out, rolls on a coat of gray, and a week later it's back. So the City is trying something else: handing those walls to students. A wall with your work on it isn't a blank wall anymore, and it's a lot harder to tag over something your classmates made.

Do I have to be a good artist?¿Tengo que ser buen artista?
No. The contest is for the design. On paint day everyone paints, and most of a mural is filling in big shapes with a roller.

Yes. Teams of up to [number]. Every name on the entry goes on the wall.

No names of people, no logos or brands, nothing that reads as a tag. Everything else is open.

Report it in Sunland Park Connect and Public Works cleans just the tagged spot; the mural stays. Then the students who painted it get first shot at the touch-up.

City staff and [school staff], the whole time. Students paint with rollers and brushes. No spray paint, no ladders for students.
