How do I go about obtaining a copy of my case/discovery?
How do I appeal my case/how much time do I have to appeal my case after sentencing?
The appeal process should be done within 15 days of sentencing at Las Cruces District Court at (575) 523-8200.
What type of cases are seen at Municipal Court?
The Municipal Court has no jury trials. Only Petty misdemeanors, DWI/DUI, traffic violations and other municipal ordinance violations.
Where can I pay my citation/ Can I pay my citation at the Court?
All Payments for citations can be made at Sunland Park City Hall or by contacting nCourt at: (877) 717-4546 or online: www.sunlandpartktix.com; No payments are taken at the courthouse. (If placed on a payment plan please ensure to have a copy of the invoice that was provided to you.)
Can I pay with check, money order, cash, or debit/credit card?
All payments methods are accepted.
What is a Penalty Assessment (PA)?
A penalty assessment is a misdemeanor offense does not require a court appearance. By initialing the PA the offender is accepting guilt to the offense. Once the PA has been initialed the offender cannot change the plea. The offender then only has 30 thirty days to remit payment.
The arraignment is the defendant’s first appearance before the judge. At this proceeding the judge will inform the defendant of the charges. Advise the defendant of their rights and ask the defendant to plead to the charge (s). The defendant will then enter a: Guilty, Not Guilty or No Contest plea.
Can you check the status of another citation received in New Mexico?
We only have access to citations received and submitted to Sunland Park Municipal Court.
