Rio Grande Overflow Impacts CRRUA Wastewater Collection Infrastructure

The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) is monitoring impacts to a section of its wastewater collection infrastructure resulting from overflow and elevated water levels in the Rio Grande following recent heavy rainfall.

“Excess water entering the wastewater collection system places additional stress on sewer infrastructure and increases the potential for overflows.” CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby

CRRUA crews are on-site addressing the situation and assessing conditions.

Area to Watch

Residents are encouraged to stay alert for unusual sewer odors or other signs of potential wastewater system issues along McNutt Road, from Sunland Park Drive south to the wastewater treatment facility near the Racetrack Drive intersection.

If you notice a sewer odor or other potential warning signs, please report it to CRRUA immediately:
