The Recap
One Night, One Community
On Friday, October 2, neighbors from across Sunland Park came out to the Sunland Park Sport Complex for the sixth annual National Night Out, hosted by the Sunland Park Police Department.
From 5 to 9 p.m., families met the officers who serve their neighborhoods, got an up-close look at public safety vehicles, and stopped by booths from local agencies, organizations, and businesses. Kids hula-hooped, posed with costumed characters, and cheered ringside for lucha libre matches as the sun set over the Sport Complex.
National Night Out is a nationwide campaign that builds strong partnerships between law enforcement and the neighborhoods they serve. In Sunland Park, those partnerships start with simple things: a handshake, a question, and a conversation between neighbors.
